Job Description

We are in search of a Sales Engineer for our complete portfolio of Commercial HVAC and Refrigeration products in Malaysia, focusing on OEMs. The candidate will report to the General Manager of Malaysia and take daily directions from the Climate Solutions country Lead. There is a technical team that will support the Sales Engineer in quotations and technical customer support along with focus product business drivers both in Malaysia and elsewhere in Asia.

OEM sales under the Danfoss Climate Solutions segment is a priority focus for Danfoss Malaysia. We place special emphasis on Commercial HVAC which we see as an area with high growth potential. From a sales point of view, the Sales Engineer has the following key priorities:

  • Develop sales growth for OEMs building collaborative relationships where Danfoss is viewed as a key technology partner for the OEMs daily and future business
  • Ensure close follow up on existing business together with technical support and customer service to ensure targets are met and customer is highly satisfied with Danfoss performance

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Ensuring consistent and sustainable high growth with a strong and healthy pipeline
  • Manage partners pricing, pipeline and development and proactively avoid conflicts

  • Drive for continued improvement in customer satisfaction

  • Establish a sales budget for assigned customers

  • Develop new customers

  • Map customer products at application level and seek new areas to expand for Danfoss

  • Understand customer R&D roadmaps, hereunder on refrigerants

  • Defining, developing and implementing country growth plans for OEMs

  • Meet sales targets and continuously grow market shares. Quote, negotiate and close sales deals/orders

  • Lead strategic customer meetings including events such as annual technology days 

  • Active participation in marketing activities (i.e. exhibitions, surveys, etc.)

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Ambitious and with a strong sense of urgency, self-starter

  • Strong communication skills also in English

  • Business or Engineering degree, with proven experience in sales and marketing and business development within OEM sales

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related role, ideally at a commercial HVAC OEM 

  • Proven track record in driving initiatives, results and engagement via others

  • Structured and transparent approach with CRM at the core – Danfoss uses SalesForce

  • Understanding of the marketing and manufacturing processes at an OEM including R&D and procurement

  • Entrepreneur mindset with high level of energy and confidence and strong appetite for challenges and winning
