Job Description

The SAP Variant Configuration (VC) Programmer/Modeler is responsible for executing the activities associated with detailed construction, analysis, and maintenance of the Variant Configurators for the Global SAP implementation at Danfoss Power Solutions. These activities include designing and maintaining SAP VC models, object dependencies, variant tables, classification hierarchies, material masters, bill of materials, routings, and variant conditions for pricing in the SAP system for sales and production data of complex manufacturing products.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

•  SAP ECC 6.0 and above

•  Good communications skills

•  Should have integration knowledge with VC and all other cross functional areas.

•  Understand business requirements and provide the best solution.

•  In scope services to include the creation and maintenance related to variant configuration.

•  Define Characteristics and values, Variant Classes, Configuration Profile, Bills of material, Routing for variant models.

•  Sales Pricing and transfer cost integration activities and settings

•  Production support activities related to the variant models.

•  Internet Pricing Configurator (IPC), knowledge bases and runtime versions

•  Generate and keep current documentation related to any knowledge transfer provided and or changes made to the variant models.

•  Work with business to fully understand the proposed requirement and fully test any development activities performed prior to deployment

•  Work with Customer’s project resources to resolve issues

•  Researching, analyzing, developing and testing solutions. Provide best practices

•  Collaborate with PMO on the list of priorities and implementation strategy

•  Contribute on the continuous improvement process

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Information Technology
  • Or In lieu of a degree, some programming experience is required in addition to an Associate Degree or completion of a coding “boot camp” type program
  • 3+ years’ of related experience
  • Some technical and/or mechanical background is a plus
  • Siemens Rulestream knowledge is a differentiator
  • Up to 15% business travel
