Job Description

As a Technical Buyer PM (Officially Procurement Sourcing Project Manager), you will get a unique opportunity to be part of the procurement organization working to create a continuous cost saving pipeline by presenting well-developed project business cases reflecting Total Cost of Ownership. You will be part of a global procurement team, currently consisting of Project Managers, located in Denmark, USA, Brazil, India, Italy Great Bretain and China. The project teams involve participants from several parts of the organization, including Engineering, Operations and Procurement. The key challenge is successfully initiating, planning, and designing projects with excellent execution and control to be delivered to timeline while maintaining quality and cost targets.  This position will be located in Danfoss Power Solutions’ Controls Site in Reggio Emilia (Italy).

Job Responsibilities

  • Create continuous Cost Savings Pipeline (constrained and unconstrained) for technical and sourcing levers by understanding category/sourcing trends and challenging the status quo.
  • Communicating the project status to all relevant and appropriate people involved in or needing to know the overall status.  This include regular reports to senior business leaders.
  • Effective and efficient implementation of approved projects from end-to-end, ensuring all expectations and deliverables are met.  This would include but not limited to forming and managing team resources, timelines, action plans, savings, expenses, and supplier relationships.
  • Effective management of all assigned or temporary resources to secure a successful outcomes and implementations to include people as well as capital funding for tooling and fixtures.
  • Coordinating activities between Global and/or Regional Category Managers (GCM/RCM) and Product Development Team to achieve the best cost, quality, and delivery sourcing decisions.
  • Work with suppliers, internal customers, management and stakeholders to identify, visualize and mitigating potential risks for the projects

Background & Skills

To be successful, an individual will need to be a robust person in the face of sometimes differing Internal/External stakeholder expectations, and you have experience in mediating this type of situation. The ideal candidate must be results driven, with a desire to reach goals by overcoming obstacles. As a candidate you should comfortable with stringent use of global tools and processes, but you are also able to work in a high pace with a proactive mind-set and creative thinking. Finally, you are a strong communicator and as a team player, you possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder networks.
 

  • Degree in business, technology, project management, or other related field with 10+ years of experience in project management, engineering, procurement, operations, or technology
  • Experience with categories and components in hydraulic systems a strong preference
  • Certified Project Manager credentials and/or manufacturing experience is an advantage
  • Strong ability to lead people and groups
  • Strong MS Office skills specifically Excel and PowerPoint

Travel:  Domestic and/or international travel 30%
