Job Description

 

Danfoss Reynosa is looking for a skilled EHS Manager.

 

The main objective of the role is to provide Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security leadership activities to the Site, establishing EHS objectives and targets; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of national, area, and local regulatory requirements, and ensuring documents are available in the local languages.

 

This position is responsible for: maintaining site ISO14001 certification, Clean Industry Certification, CT-PAT and OEA Certification; assuring accurate and complete SEH reporting of metrics; assuring closure of corrective action, SHE observations and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis; completion of required training for SEH personnel; managing interfaces with the public and governmental authorities with adverse findings and enforcement actions; directing actions during crises; site security, creating a strong SEH culture that engages employees throughout the site in SEH teams and processes.

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Maintains the site ISO14001 certification, Clean Industry Certification; assuring accurate and complete SEH metrics reports; of corrective action, SHE observations and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis.
  • Participates in establishing policy, objectives, and targets of Environmental Management System, implementing an effective operational control to manage significant environmental aspects in their activities and services according with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations. 
  • Drives and promote “Zero Incidents” SEH culture throughout site, establishing the principles and methodologies for FC Safety and Hygiene to prevent occupational hazards, incidents, illnesses, and injuries to employees. Works with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key SEH risks.
  • Supports in creation of SEH goals for the site manager and an appropriate activity based in goals for leadership’s team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive SEH culture, compliance, and results.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains a multifunctional approaching to address at least the following SEH matters such as Investigation of incidents, Inspection, audits, Workstations Risk Assessment, Analysis of job safety (internal and external to contractors), Preparation and emergency response, Equipment First Aid / Cardiopulmonary, Management of chemicals, Environmental and Analysis, Analysis of risks to safety, security, and health.
  • Uses established SEH data processes such as GIMs to manage data for injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, SEH action items and other pertinent information, providing necessary guidance to the plant manager and the leadership team about SEH.
  • Creates training matrices to ensure that all trainings are defined and tracked to completion.
  • Maintains awareness of laws and regulations at national, regional, local and other, to determine if they affect plant operations and to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for SEH.
  • Works with site leadership team and facilities to ensure that all key SEH operational controls are in place, on a PM program, and that SEH action items are resolved on a timely basis.
  • Improve and maintain the daily commitment of employees by involving them and making them part of the SEH System, through campaigns focused on Safety, Health, Hygiene, Security, and the Environment.

Background & Skills

 

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

  • Professional Degree Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in Environmental, Safety, Health and Security, Industrial Hygiene program management.
  • Knowledge and application of regulations issued by STPS, SEMARNAT.
  • Knowledge and application of regulations Local, State and Federal.
  • Fluent in English/Spanish.
