Job Description
Do you have an ability to influence and interact within a matrix based organizational structure and with external suppliers? Do you have strong personal presence, self-confidence and the ability to convey and drive sense of urgency? Can you make a step change in the sourcing strategy for our plants in Mexico? Then you might be our new Procurement Manager.
The position is located in Queretaro, and you will be leading a small team of procurement professionals located in Queretaro and Reynosa.
Being part of a Global Procurement Team with colleagues in US, Denmark, Italy, China and India, you will be driving the process of locating and maintaining the best sources of supply for the components, materials and services a company needs. With that, you are expected to take the lead in growing and developing the Mexican supplier portfolio to match our target of increased local sourcing. For that reason, extensive experience with Category Management and proven track record of supplier localization in the manufacturing environment is a must.
You will consider all aspects of relationship with suppliers, including quality and delivery, and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements. You will ensure one point of contact towards suppliers and the business. You will strategize to find the most cost-effective deals and suppliers.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Identify and develop raw material local suppliers in México within Casting, Machining, Turned Parts and Forging categories
- Ensuring seamless flow of parts from external suppliers with defined quality, lead time, OTD and cost
- Acting as a procurement representative to BU meetings for S&OP, key projects, performance improvement and change management
- Ensuring pipeline and effective execution of sourcing project to meet savings targets
- People development, management and recruitment
- Providing an interface between Category Management, Project Management, Supplier Quality and Supply Chain for new projects
- Liaising with the varying areas of the Divisions and Business areas (Finance, Materials Management, Engineering, etc.) in support of operations
- Material availability and supplier capacity monitoring
- Active participation in divisional Procurement & Business Unit leadership team to constantly improve processes, meet targets, share best practices and develop creative solutions for our business
Background & Skills

- Academic degree within Engineering/Business
- Minimum 10 years of experience in parts and supplier management
- Leadership experience with a proven track record of managing effective teams
- Experience working in a fast-paced multinational environment with a global stakeholder base from a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence external suppliers
- Strong analytical skills, attention to details and results-oriented
- Highly motivated and driven to succeed
- Fluency in English
