Danfoss Power Solutions has a great opportunity for a self-driven, results-oriented Engineering student to gain real-world experience as Production Line & Supply Chain Simulation Engineering Intern to be located in our PMC Queretaro Plant (Parque Industrial Queretaro).

 

You will be part of the Global Manufacturing Technology team responsible for implementing Digital Manufacturing tools into all areas of our business (e.g. Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Procurement).  You will gain technical knowledge and experience applying Simulation technology to new our global manufacturing sites.  You will have the opportunity to gain global experience working with colleagues and suppliers from around the world. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Supporting Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain with Process Simulation projects.
  • Interacting with internal customers to collect, validate and analyze process data.
  • Building of Discrete Event Simulation models with focus on throughput, resource utilization, resource flow, constraints, blockage, process improvement.
  • Guiding and training teams in the value of discrete event simulations.
  • Usage of CAD software to aid customers. 
  • Participating in various implementation projects related to Simulation.

Background & Skills

 

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechatronics, Information Technology or similar), with an interest in the use and application of Discrete Event Simulation tools.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a must
  • Knowledge in the application of Simulation Tools to model, analysis and providing solutions to scenarios where increased efficiency, throughput, waste reduction, lay out changes, etc. 
  • Hands-on experience with the operation of Simulation software, desirable Siemens Tecnomatix Plant simulation.  
  • Knowledge of MS Excel
  • Knowlegde of programming languages (i.e. SimTalk) - preferrable
  • Experience with data collection, data process and process analysis.
  • Experience with 2D & 3D CAD.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
