Job Description

 

Danfoss has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Facilities Technician at our Tallahassee location. The primary function of the Facilities Technician is to support and maintain the facilities for a 125,000+ square feet of office, manufacturing, and research space.  They will independently analyze the performance and maintenance of the building to optimize for reliability, safety, and comfort. In addition to facilities, the person will be required to work on other equipment as needed.  This position will occasionally require overtime and holiday work.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met as they relate to the operation of the building's infrastructure and equipment
  • Develop scope and plan projects assigned by manager that support continuous improvement and strategic business objectives
  • Identify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building's staff and occupants work in a safe environment.
  • Provide input for the annual maintenance and capital plans, which would include planning for infra-structure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications to ensure the building's future capabilities are maintained
  • Updates building plans and schematics for electrical upgrades and installations
  • Write preventive maintenance plans for existing and new equipment
  • Support predictive maintenance program
  • Develop expertise in use of CMMS
  • Behaves ethically and responsively. Models Danfoss’ “Behaviors in Action” and supports the core values of the organization.
  • Conforms to all process, quality, and EH&S standards and ensures compliance.
  • Works independently with little direct supervision. Executes all assigned tasks safely, timely, and without supervisory follow-up.
  • Works effectively with the MTS and Operations teams to achieve desired results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on industrial maintenance or commercial service experience required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience reading precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicaters, levels, lasters, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Formal technical training/certifications or 2+ years of secondary education.
  • Experience reading and interpreting electronic or hydraulic drawings, building plans and as-builts.
  • Experience with chillers and cooling towers
  • History of managing small projects and contractor work 
  • 3+ years'experience servicing and troubleshooting refrigerant systems
  • Above average computer skills
