Job Description

Reporting to the Global Director of Quality, the Manufacturing Quality Manager provides leadership, mentoring, evaluation and development of the quality engineers, quality technicians and quality inspectors. Additionally, the Manufacturing Quality Manager will facilitate problem solving, ensure coordination and communication of corrective and preventive actions.

It is fundamental for this role to exercise influence without authority and align priorities with peers in a cross functional team environment as Quality Leader for Tallahassee Manufacturing.

The Manufacturing Quality Manager will also provide means of escalation in support of internal and external customer satisfaction, corrective action, and quality leading indicator initiatives. Additionally, will encourage and support employee participation at all levels in the resolution of product quality problems, implement employee recognition, and promote positive company-oriented attitudes towards quality assurance and reliability of Danfoss Quality

This Role will manage team in 2 shift operations supporting our production needs. Will also lead teams for Receiving Inspection, Process/Product Audits, Line Support and related processes. Additionally, support the Director of Quality on strategic plans and roadmaps to Continuously improve Customer satisfaction and Quality performance.

Job Responsibilities

•    Develop, implement, and monitor performance against short and long-range plans to achieve quality engineering and quality system objectives.
•    Identify needs and, develop the quality teams function and quality systems related to the process under your responsibility.
•    Develop or modify quality procedures, metrics, and processes to achieve quality and on time delivery goals.
•    Select and develop competent quality staff to ensure quality goals are achieved and they have clear expectations aligned with Plant Quality goals.
•    Drive corrective action and preventive action for timely and effective completion with emphasis on the high impact issues.
•    Assist as required in all technical qualify functions as necessary, supporting your team or peers in and out of quality.
•    Assure effective communication and reporting to internal customers and external Customer when required or designated. 
•    Support the achievement of Firs pass yield and Cost of Poor Quality, goals as identified by the Director of Quality and Plant Leadership
•    Record any measurable statistics which your position impacts such as production expenses, maintenance expenses, sales volumes, payroll costs, capital expenditures, research budgets, cost of purchases, value of inventories controlled, employees supervised (direct and indirect).
•    Lead internal process and product audits, establish goals, report, assign and track issues with designated functions
•    Provide guidance on inspection plans for Receiving Inspection, product and process audits, Line Support and firefighting activities team and Containment activities for plant and supplier issues.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 
•    Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
•    Minimum of five (5) years in a Quality role within a plant-manufacturing environment
•    Minimum of two (3) years combined experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
•    Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast paced and demanding environment are required
•    Extensive experience leading / facilitating complex 8D’s.
•    Self-driven professional capable of set direction with peers for Quality Roadmap

 

Furthermore, it is essential that you have:
•    Green Belt / Six Sigma problem solving
•    Strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Background
•    Training or experience in the knowledge and application of PPAP, FMEA, Lean/Six Sigma, ISO-9001/14001, IATF, GD&T, Capability Analysis, Corrective Action Tools, and Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Word)
•    Professional certifications (QE, SQE, etc.) from ASQ or the like beneficial
•    ISO IATF knowledge
•    Experience from working in large global organizations and operating effectively in a matrix with several stakeholders
•    The ability to involve, inspire and develop people
•    Full fluency in oral and written English. 
•    Master’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, Business or other related area is a plus
