Job Description

Danfoss Turbocor (DTC) is the pioneer and market leader for oil-free centrifugal compressors and is transforming the commercial HVAC chiller market with highest efficiency through innovative technology.  Our company is dedicated to the design, manufacture, and support of the world’s most efficient commercial HVAC compressors. This internship will support the planning and execution of a new factory being built in Tallahassee, FL.  During this period, the intern can expect to be involved in detail planning of the project by supporting the integration of the building construction and equipment integration into the factory.  Along with supporting the business with execution planning/scheduling, the intern can expect to support all functional areas of the project team with creating status reports and presentations.  All these activities will support the intern by exposing them to real world application of Project Management tools and principles to further develop their career potential. During the internship, the intern will be mentored by a cross functional group of manufacturing professionals at all levels of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules.
  • Analyze schedules to ensure the most efficient use of resources and accurate finish dates.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of facility layouts.
  • Analyze the factory layout to ensure the most efficient use of floor space and allow for adequate material flow.
  • Provide transparency of project status through updated schedules, reports, and communication that provides the truth of the situation to team and business.
  • Assist with development and improvement of Danfoss Turbocor processes.
  • Lead small planning/scheduling projects from concept to implementation.
  • Assist project teams with cross-functional responsibilities as needed to ensure successful project execution.
  • Other business and project activities as needed by the Project Management Office.

Background & Skills

  • Working toward Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering; Junior or above preferred
  • Availability to work 40 hours/week during the Summer semester and 20 hours/week during the Spring/Fall semester. Business hours are M-F, 8am-5pm ET.
  • Fall 2021/Spring 2022 start with possibility to continue through 2022
  • On site with potential for some remote work
  • Working knowledge of MS Project
  • MS Office suite
  • CAD experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well on a team
