Job Description

The Senior Production Manager is responsible for leadership of the 7x24 manufacturing operations at the Danfoss Silicon Power site in Utica NY.  This includes day to day direction to 4 shift managers and maintenance resources.   A successful candidate will be leading the manufacturing scale up of a high-volume automated power module facility.  This position performs a wide variety of duties to ensure quality and reliability of products produced on all production lines .  The Senior Production Manager is a key member of the Management team that leads by example and promotes data driven analysis and decisions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with peers in other Danfoss Silicon Power locations to transfer new products in a methodology that is consistent and compliant with IATF 16949 .
  • Act as the Manufacturing focal point for the Utica site, collaborating with R&D, and Supply Chain value streams in other Danfoss Silicon Power locations.
  • Provide day to day leadership and feedback to manufacturing and maintenance staff, ensuring  all employees are properly trained to operate process equipment in a safe and quality-oriented manner.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to group that emphasizes safety and continuous improvement in quality and productivity
  • Develop and recruit staffing that supports a growing customer demand
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing activities through the Danfoss Business Systems (DBS) methodologies
  • Work collaboratively with peers to resolve issues that affect capacity, quality, and customer deliveries.
  • Ability to travel internationally typically < 10%

Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain Management
  • 3 years Management experience  in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Production and, Material Planning and their interaction with Manufacturing Execution 
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment 
  • Familiarity with electronics assembly equipment 
  • Proactive and dynamic approach in challenging existing processes and exploring new opportunities
  • Ability to foster teamwork within the group in an open and communicative style
