We are now seeking to add a Business Development Manager to cover the South of the UK across our AC Drives product portfolio.

 

Reporting to the Head of Product Sales, the Business Development Manager will be charged with expanding and maintaining the Danfoss Drives Brands in the South of England and growing our existing business in this area with the aim of achieving market leadership in line with company goals and strategies.

Job Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager, South UK will:

  • Develop and control the area of operation to ensure overall sales targets are achieved within the framework of DDS country, segments and partner network strategy.
  • Maintain, develop and grow existing and new direct accounts / the distributor network in the area together with major OEMs and all the necessary personal contacts associated
  • Find, develop and convert new potential accounts in order to meet sales target requirements while increasing our market share.
  • Identify and influence new business opportunities for referrals into our distribution network for them to gain new business.
  • Provide quotations promptly and in accordance with established procedures which satisfy customers and business needs and result in maximum sales.
  • Negotiate at senior level with, Company Directors and Senior Contracts Manager in order to develop and maintain long term business relationships.
  • Provide information on progress with customers and prospective customers as well as market information to contribute to the formulation of our Divisional strategy
  • Maintain the Drives CRM System (Salesforce)
  • Submit a monthly area report using the standard company templates.

Background & Skills

To thrive in this role you'll likely have:

  • Detailed experience within the AC Drives market place (or similar) with knowledge and skills relating to both electrical and mechanical engineering and applications.  Some form of engineering qualification to support this would be preferable.
  • Knowledge of market pricing, and a detailed understanding of  sales methodologies to achieve maximum growth
  • Strong and proactive communication, networking, and negotiation skills along with the ability to build and maintain personal relationships with customers and stakeholders
  • Strong team ethic and a willingness to share information about projects with other team members, including Sales Managers, the Partner Network and other Danfoss departments.
  • Ability to react positively and proactively to dynamic market conditions so as to maintain and increase the Danfoss customer base
