Job Description

Danfoss in Van Wert, OH  is searching for a Finance Analyst Intern for the Summer 2023 term. The Finance Analyst Intern will assist in a wide array of financial duties at the Van Wert site. This individual will be heavily involved in the monthly closing process through journal entry generation, reconciliation, and results analysis.  The Finance Analyst Intern will also assist in all internal and external audits, costing analysis, and departmental budgeting.  A successful candidate will strive to gain a deep understanding of the Danfoss business in Van Wert and a thorough understanding of manufacturing site accounting within Danfoss.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Complete daily sales and operating reports
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Complete month end closing journal entries
  • Support Danfoss Business System improvements through report generation and financial analysis
  • Assist in cost analysis for product lines
  • Assist in completion of internal and external audits
  • Assist in departmental budgeting and results reviews
  • Assist in Fixed Asset Audits
  • Assist in Asset management projects/capitalization preparation

Background & Skills

  • Required (basic) qualifications – Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business with a focus on accounting or finance.
  • Preferred qualifications – Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
