Job Description

Danfoss in Van Wert, Ohio is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join our Finance team.  This position will process payroll for hourly and salaried employees; responsible for all aspects of payroll administration, reporting, analysis, general ledger journal entries and account reconciliation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proficient use of KRONOS Time and Labor system
    • Ensure all employees have a minimum of 40 hours coded per week (includes accurate use of codes for employees on leave of absence, etc.), all exceptions resolved and timecard approvals by weekly deadline
    • Perform historical timecard corrections
    • Track and record reimbursements (safety shoes/glasses) and deductions
    • Troubleshoot KRONOS technical issues and enter IT tickets
  • Transmit and reconcile bi-weekly hourly and bi-monthly salary non-exempt payroll hours from KRONOS to CUPS payroll register
  • Calculate and process back pay and vacation payouts
  • Research the source of paycheck discrepancies/errors and follow-up as appropriate to ensure corrections are made
  • Manage garnishments paperwork and log tickets
  • Weekly and month end journal entries, reporting, analysis and labor-related general ledger account reconciliations
  • Perform payroll accuracy audits
  • Prepare and distribute daily overtime tracker to forecast by department
  • Communicate effectively with leaders regarding deadline changes, incomplete coding/approvals or related activities
  • Ensure internal controls are maintained for audit compliance
  • Ad-hoc reporting or analysis as requested

Background & Skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, from an accredited institution.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum two (2) years related experience in a payroll function
