Supervisor - Customer Quality

Job Description

Lead the Product Reliability and Customer Quality team members to exceed internal (Danfoss sites) and external (OEM and distributors) customer expectations. This role must drive the process to minimize risk to our customers, ensure a robust corrective action is in place and lead the identification and improvement of system level processes while leveraging Continuous Improvement tools.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Identify and provide direction to support completion of assignments that directly support plant objectives and execute the same with minimal supervision by leveraging electronic solutions and tier meetings.
  • Create a team environment that collectively and proactively supports continual improvement in the department and facility.
  • Assess and design ways to refine operations to improve efficiencies and reduce process variations. 
  • Lead or provide technical guidance (internal/external) to cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects/problem solving teams/product development teams.
  • Manage activity of departmental personnel to ensure effective resource management to support the plant objectives and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify, implement and verify corrective action activity within the plant though a Layered Process approach. 
  • Direct or participate in quality system audits, quality training, monthly performance assessments, customer visits or assessments, and other activities to support an effective quality system.
  • Establish and direct an effective communication process with internal and external customers to ensure it is accurate, timely and it promotes partnerships.
  • Complete corrective actions with our standard 8D process, leveraging appropriate statistical tools to establish root cause, determine permanent corrective actions for occurrence and systemic issues, and prevent repeat failures.
  • Support PPAP activity within the department as needed.
  • Support various quality functions and flex as needed.

Background & Skills

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3+ years experience in Manufacturing Quality

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) 
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification 

 

Job Criteria:

  • Must be able to read, understand and apply product drawings, product engineering standards, process control plans, PFMEAs, routers, job instructions, standardized work, basic statistical methods, and measurement tools.
  • Must be organized and a team player able to interact with employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders to promote and uphold the plant’s Quality Policy.
  • Must be professional and effective in communicating with internal and external customers either orally and/or via technical reports or correspondence.
  • Must have technical skills and proficiencies in gaging, data analysis, use of computers, writing and oral communications.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Sharepoint;  C360 and MFG Pro are preferred)
  • Must be adaptable to change in priorities with little to no notice.

 

Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship, both now and in the future.
