Job Description

 

The Automotive Line Manager will be responsible for the complete coordination and output of an automotive production line, including the communication with the customer whose products are produced on the line.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Management and leadership of the supervisor and the production staff (appr. 80 employees)
  • Ensuring the further development/promotion of employees (IDP, People Review)
  • Proactive planning of production utilization and prioritization of production orders
  • Responsibility for the output of the production quantities in relation to personnel deployment and the resulting production costs
  • Creation and presentation of production-relevant key figures
  • Creation of budget plan for staff growth
  • Ensuring DBS methods in production (Factory Board, PMS, RCPS)
  • Focus on shop floor activities (Gemba/waste walk)
  • Support for lean projects within production (DBS)
  • Maintenance and monitoring of health and personnel statistics
  • Projects related to production optimization (productivity, yield, throughput)
  • Implementation of measures to obtain the certifications (e.g.: IATF 16949)
  • Support for Complain Handling when determining the causes of errors
  • Interface with the customer to provide updates on output and line status
  • Budgeting of the annual need for temporary workers, including the ordering process 

Background & Skills

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field  
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the production of automotive or electronics industry
  • Familiarity with industry standards   
  • Knowledge Leadership, Lean Management, SAP and IATF 16949  
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills  
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills  
  • Self-motivated with a passion for continuous improvement  
  • Will to travel within the United States and to other countries as needed

Compensation Data

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $95,000-$119,000/year. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
