Semikron-Danfoss is looking for a Lead Maintenance Technician on D shift to join us at our Utica, New York facility. The hours for this position are every other Saturday, every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 5:45 pm – 6:15 am with the possibility for overtime.

 

As a Lead Maintenance Technician, your responsibility is to sustain production machinery(tools), provide consistent tool performance, keep systems and equipment running by preventative maintenance, making repairs, and installing necessary replacement parts, along with cost reduction activities.

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and direct maintenance technicians.
  • Evaluate equipment malfunctions with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime.
  • Respond to maintenance requests.
  • Perform maintenance work as needed.
  • Ensure the maintenance team follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Escalate issues to management and recommend solutions.
  • Trouble Shoot minor and complex tool issues to resolution.
  • Communicate with leaders of other departments details of all tool downtimes.
  • Mentor and train Maintenance Technicians.
  • Must be able to generate and close digital work orders and tracking equipment repair history.
  • Makes preventative maintenance checks and inspections as required and on time.
  • Plan and accomplish preventative maintenance activities on motors, pumps, robots, conveyor systems and production machines to improve reliability.
  • Prioritize shift maintenance tasks to optimize production time.

Compensation Data

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $30.00+ per hour. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills: 

  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, automotive or aviation industries is required.
  • Knowledgeable in maintenance best practices.
  • Efficient use of time and project management skills.
  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with IBM Maximo asset management software
  • Familiarity with SAP, or other manufacturing execution systems
  • Strong computer skills
  • Detail oriented
