Danfoss’ newest business unit – White Drives Motors & Steering is a standalone business that consists of three locations -- Hopkinsville, Kentucky, U.S.; Wroclaw, Poland; and Parchim, Germany. As part of the announced acquisition of Eaton Hydraulics, White Drives Motors & Steering will be divested from Danfoss by the end of 3Q 2021 to ensure all regulatory approvals are met. 

This position is expected to remain with White Drives Motors & Steering. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Danfoss’ plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Danfoss when the transaction closes, the new owner of White Drive Motors & Steering will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

Danfoss is looking for a strategic buyer for the White Drive Motors & Steering BU in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, USA. This role will ensure our suppliers deliver and improve on all parameters and, most importantly, on time. You will be responsible for a range of strategic procurement activities to ensure supplier performance and development on both short and long-term basis. In doing so, you will be working across several global functions and serve as the link between supply chain and external suppliers. In this position, you need to use your excellent analytical and communication skills to be able to find compromises between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests. 

Job Responsibilities

As a strategic buyer, you will be responsible for a range of strategic procurement activities to ensure supplier performance and development on both short- and long-term basis. You will report to the procurement manager. Your key responsibilities will be:
•    The first escalation point for supply and quality issues, including documentation of supplier performance
•    Drive capacity management towards suppliers
•    Support to monitor forecast versus supplier capacities
•    Coordinate ramp up and ramp down in new projects
•    Drive Supplier Logistic Agreements with our suppliers together with supply chain and category
•    Conduct supplier workshops together with supply chain to improve on-time delivery
•    Owner of Supplier On-time Delivery KPI; create action plans to address gaps
•    Coordinate Production Parts Approval Process for changes and new projects
•    Facility Procurement Change Management process through PLM with risk assessment
•    Drive minor projects e.g. cost-down projects and supplier changes
•    Support and follow-up on supplier returns and reimbursement activities
•    Own and maintain Procurement Master Data (pricing changes, surcharges and contact information)
•    Supplier relationship management

Background & Skills

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred. Other relative fields- Engineering, manufacturing, quality, technology, etc. or equivalent experience
•    Several years of experience in implementation of sourcing strategies for different spend categories
•    Experience in one or more spend categories as Sourcing Specialist (turned parts, castings, coils, rubber, etc.) is an advantage
•    Experience in negotiation is an advantage
•    Good knowledge of reading technical drawings
•    Technical experience with processes within machining and electronics a plus
•    Experience in problem solving tools
•    Experience in SAP and Office package (Excel, PowerPoint)
•    Fluent in written and spoken English
•    Ability to multitask and thrive in a multi-cultural team environment 
•    Dedicated, goal-oriented individual who work with a strong sense of urgency
•    Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment 
•    Confident with the ability to get work done through others
