Job Description

We engineer impact where it counts, from the farms that feed to the modern city. Danfoss in Ames has an opening for a 1st shift Material Handler. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:00 pm with the potential for overtime.
Material Handlers perform a variety of duties related to pulling stock, order staging and warehouse material movement. This includes completing timely and accurate updating of the SAP system. The Material Handler communicates directly with Production Operations Technician to ensure sufficient and correct supplier parts are present for each production order. Material Handlers are expected to receive and maintain certification of a proper forklift operation license and perform daily safety checks on equipment.

Job Responsibilities
- Receive incoming parts from vendor or warehouse; Identify parts and place into proper bin locations.
- Provide line support for the assembly cell and is the next level of escalation after the cell expert for manufacturing issues related to safety and process quality
- Perform daily replenishment route checks of floor stock items, prioritizing assembly cells when signaled by light.
- Report existing or pending part shortages to Department Facilitator and Supply Chain Specialist
- Complete timely and accurate updating of SAP system material information
- Perform accurate electronic scale and hand counts
