Job Description
The Product Application Engineer is an integrated part of the Orbital Gear Solutions (OGS) Business Unit sales team. The Product Application Engineer (PAE) is a vital entry point for Sales & Marketing (S&M) to the Business Unit (BU) for technical product questions. The PAE has product responsibility for specific products/product families and will provide technical solutions, documentation, support, guidance, and training for the Danfoss organization and customers. The Product Application Engineer will also provide input to the Business Unit regarding the products and options that could be developed to better serve our customers. Placing value on innovative solutions and responsive support to our customers are keys to success.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
- Act as a technical consultant for system application engineers (SAE), account managers (AM), and sales development managers (SDM) to provide our customers with the best possible solution for their machines.
- Engage with engineering and the digital customer experience team to bring technical information and literature to life by creating the foundation for an interactive, easy-to-use platform.
- Take ownership of sales requests, coordinate with other departments to determine feasibility and communicate feedback to sales teams or customer.
- Plan and implement product trainings for our sales teams and customers
- Develop customer notifications for product changes
Background & Skills
Required (basic) qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in engineering, technical sales or manufacturing
- English (written and spoken)
Preferred qualifications
- Technical experience in the hydraulics industry or, more specifically, applying Low Speed High Torque motors
- Experience working with SAP, Teamcenter and Salesforce

- Able to work in a team atmosphere and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Eager to build relationships with the sales team and customers in order to advocate for them within the business ensuring timely support.
