Job Description

Danfoss is Ames, IA is searching for Product Engineering Interns. This position offers the opportunity to start in either January or May 2025. The internship entails working with Product Engineers and others in the organization to create and improve product designs for high power hydrostatic products produced in locations around the globe.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Component or system design and analysis
  • Testing and validation in a lab setting with written reports
  • Development of new product features
  • Current and new product design documentation and support

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Agricultural Engineering (Power and Machinery)
    • Availability to work 40 hours/week during the Summer, and a minimum of 8 hours/week minimum during the Fall/Spring
    • Internship or coop experience in an engineering or manufacturing field preferred
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Self-starter & team player
    • Hands-on mechanical skills
    • Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the work location.
