The Impact You'll Make

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the overall operation, development, safety, and continuous improvement of the engineering laboratory in Anshan. In addition to managing laboratory resources, personnel, equipment, and test activities, the role requires a strong hands-on engineering contribution.


The successful candidate acts as both Laboratory Manager and Senior Laboratory Engineer, ensuring that testing is performed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with global standards while actively challenging existing methods and proposing improvements. The role requires a proactive and self-driven individual who contributes technical expertise during product development, validation, troubleshooting, and innovation activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

Laboratory Leadership & Management
•Lead daily laboratory operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all testing activities.
•Plan and prioritize laboratory resources to support project timelines and business objectives.
•Manage laboratory personnel, including engineers, technicians, and external service providers.
•Ensure laboratory compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, calibration standards, and quality systems.
•Develop laboratory capabilities, equipment, processes, and competencies in alignment with global laboratory strategy.
•Maintain laboratory readiness for internal and external audits.
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and laboratory efficiency.
Engineering & Technical Responsibilities
•Plan, execute, review, and interpret laboratory tests and measurements.
•Provide technical guidance and support to engineering, quality, production, and supply chain teams.
•Participate actively in product development, validation, root cause investigations, and problem-solving activities.
•Develop and improve test methods, procedures, and measurement techniques.
•Design, build, and optimize test setups and data acquisition systems.
•Analyze test data and provide clear technical conclusions and recommendations.
•Collaborate closely with global engineering and laboratory teams.
Proactive Improvement & Innovation
•Challenge existing test methods and identify opportunities for improved accuracy, efficiency, repeatability, and automation.
•Proactively recommend better testing approaches instead of simply executing requested measurements.
•Participate in defining test strategies early in development projects.
•Identify technology improvements, equipment investments, and automation opportunities.
•Lead laboratory Kaizen and continuous improvement projects.
•Promote a culture of innovation, technical curiosity, and engineering excellence.
Laboratory Systems & Automation
•Develop and maintain automated test systems.
•Program and enhance test applications using LabVIEW.
•Integrate measurement instruments, sensors, data acquisition systems, and automated reporting tools.
•Support digitalization and automation initiatives within the laboratory environment.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related technical field.
  • LabVIEW programming experience is required.
  • Minimum 5 years of laboratory, testing, validation, or product development experience.
  • Experience leading engineering or laboratory teams is highly preferred.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment, data acquisition systems, and automated testing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering testing and measurement techniques.
  • Practical experience with data acquisition systems and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of calibration, verification, validation, and laboratory quality processes.
  • Ability to perform technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English, both written and spoken.
