Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Freight Audit Specialist who will be responsible for processing and auditing carrier invoices efficiently and expeditiously in accordance with carrier contracts and rules tariffs across all modes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Audit carrier freight bills
  • Investigate and respond to billing issues/inquiries
  • Prepare and analyze data 
  • Identify opportunities for improvement associated with third-party freight audit company 
  • Responsible for running reports and measuring KPIs to measure audit provider's performance
  • Determine and develop approaches to administer logistics processes, procedures and rules to improve the auto-rating, department coding, and approval of freight bills while ensuring accuracy.
  • Corresponding with internal teams as needed to ensure timely/accurate payment to carriers
  • Identify, submit, track and resolve overcharges and pricing issues with carrier invoices
  • Tracking and reporting recurring issues, themes
  • Train and develop other team members
  • Comprehend carrier pricing, rules tariffs, contract rates and NMFC/commodity identification for true cost of items shipped
  • Dispute invoice discrepancies 
  • Solve a broad range of logistics finance administrative problems of varying scope and complexity
  • Other administrative duties as required

Background & Skills

  • A minimum of six years- experience
  • Must be able to speak English fluently
  • Strong knowledge of US transportation infrastructure
  • Previous experience auditing US freight bills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret freight payment procedures and carrier pricing contracts
  • Ability to present information, responding to questions and providing answers to internal teams as it relates to carrier freight bills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and collaborate within a team environment
  • Previous experience working with a 3rd party FA&P provider
  • Financial background is a plus
  • Proficient in Excel
  • TMS experience required
  • SAP experience is a plus
