Summary:
The Network Engineer partners with technology and business leaders in developing networking systems; implementing and maintaining overall IT Networks; supporting the IT networking strategies and standards for the organization. The Network Engineer works with all IT stakeholders as well as Finance and Business Units.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform day-to-day mentoring of the IT Network team members
• Coordinate with external vendors/contractors to meet organizational goals
• Oversee the implementation of network security and audit at the corporate level, and ensure sufficient measures are in place to protect the systems, data, and other information assets
• Develop, maintain, and administer network operational and administrative procedures and standards to meet or exceed defined Service Level Agreements (SLA)
• Maintain and implement latest IT network measures to support the Production, Training, QA, and Development environments
• Ensure network infrastructure compliance with regulatory requirements related to SOX, HIPAA, NIST 800-53, PII and other QTC/Leidos audits
• Good understanding in automate network related tasks
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Competencies:
• Good analytical, problem-solving and project management skills
• Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel
• Possess advance-level knowledge of a wide breadth of network infrastructure technologies to include, but not limited to L2 Switching, L3 routing (static & dynamic protocols), Wireless standards and connectivity, Datacenter networking principles, Load balancing, and firewalls.
• Intermediate communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
• Must possess the ability and flexibility to work extra hours and weekends
Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
• 2-3 years previous Network engineering experience
• Experience with enterprise-wide security, NIST and HIPAA compliance and working closely with internal and external system auditors.
• Must possess current certification or ability to obtain one of the following certifications: CASP+CE, CISSP, CISM, GSLC, CCISO.
• Advance Technical Certifications strongly preferred (e.g. CCNP, MCSE, CISSP).
• ITIL v4 knowledge required
