Job Description

Purpose of Job:

The Payroll Taxes Specialist will be responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with payroll-related tax obligations for employees across 5 manufacturing plants in Mexico. This position is critical for accurately calculating, filing, and paying payroll taxes in accordance with current Mexican tax laws. The role also focuses on optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external audits, and implementing best practices in payroll tax management.

Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Tax Calculation and Remittance:
    • Accurately calculate payroll tax contributions, including ISR, IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISN, and other local taxes, in compliance with Mexican tax regulations.
    • Ensure timely payment of all tax obligations, avoiding penalties or fines for late payments.
  • Tax Audit and Regulatory Compliance:
    • Audit, review, and check payroll-related tax returns through platforms such as SAT, IMSS, and other government authorities.
    • Ensure full compliance with all federal and state tax and labor requirements.
  • Audit and Reporting:
    • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis regarding payroll taxes.
    • Generate tax reports for management and other stakeholders, detailing the status of payroll tax obligations.
  • Analysis and Optimization:
    • Analyze payroll tax deductions and contributions to identify opportunities for optimization and process improvements.
    • Stay updated on changes in tax and labor legislation to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Interaction with Tax Authorities:
    • Maintain communication with tax authorities (SAT, IMSS, INFONAVIT) for inquiries, clarifications, or audits.
    • Resolve any payroll tax-related issues or questions that may arise at the plants under management.
  • Training and Advisory:
    • Train and advise the payroll and HR teams on best practices for managing payroll taxes.
    • Support the implementation of new processes or technological tools for payroll tax management.

Required Competences:

  • Deep and strong technical knowledge in payroll taxes.
  • Proficiency in specialized software (SUA, SAT, IDSE).
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Organization and multitasking.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Effective communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • Tax or payroll certification is desirable (not mandatory).

Required Languages:

  • English: Proficient (Level 5).

Required Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial company.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
