Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a Process Technician to join us at our diverse team. The Process Technician will be responsible for the sub-assembly process for filters dryer area.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Support to press machine area in changes, set-up and adjustments on tooling and die set to keep the product inside specification tolerances and/or supporting with trial running for new products, variants, changes or steel tests.
  • Stablish a control with the required tooling
  • Support core molding area for change over, set-up and adjustments on tooling and parameters in order to keep the product inside specifications tolerances and/or supporting with trial running for new products, variants or changes.
  • Support to the furnaces brazing area with adjustments, tests, documentation and tests running for new products, variants, etc. if required.
  • Support to make temperature profile at furnaces in order to monitory the performance 
  • Support on Economizer/Liquid Line area with new product developments, fixture adjustments / design, and defining the process for new variants.
  • Participate with the internal team in projects for changes in the product specification, new variants, new machines, layout improvements, scrap reduction, productivity improvement, etc.
  • Assists in the prove-out of new processes and process changes by gathering data, making observations about the process, and communicating ideas to improve results
  • Provide line support for sub-assembly area and is the next level of escalation after the cell expert for manufacturing issues related to safety and process quality
  • Assist in the daily activities of implementing process changes and problem solving on the shop floor
  • Assists in the prove-out of new processes and process changes by gathering data, making observations about the process, and communicating ideas to improve results
  • Monitory and improve the OEE for the production equipment.
  • Works closely with the Process Engineer

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Minimum of Technical School (mechanical related)
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Die set adjusting knowledge, components and techniques to adjust the toolings.
  • Knowledge of measuring systems (Vernier, Caliper, Micrometer, Microscope, etc.)
  • Knowledge in brazing process and techniques (soft & hard brazing), using manual process and /or furnace brazing
  • Knowledge in use of tooling shop (horizontal lathe, milling machine, grinding machine), and use of general tools.
  • Working knowledge of quality/problem solving tools (PPAP, Capability studies, PFMEA, Gauge R&R, 4-Step, 8D, Fishbone)
  • Computer skills, (Microsoft Office), Autocad, Inventor (desirable) for support with drawing documentation and/or layout
  • Customer Service mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure are necessary traits
  • Process flow diagram
  • Mechanical drawing interpretation
