Job Description

The Quality Management System (QMS) Specialist is responsible for ensuring the company's quality management systems comply with international standards ISO 9001 and IATF 16949. This role includes implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality systems, coordinating internal and external audits, training staff on quality processes, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs).

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Implement, maintain, and improve the quality management system based on ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant regulatory and customer quality requirements.
  • Participate in planning and executing internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate preparations for external audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, etc.).
  • Manage non-conformities, incidents, and corrective/preventive actions derived from audits and internal evaluations.
  •  Collaborate with production, engineering, purchasing, and other departments to ensure effective implementation of quality policies and procedures.
  • Support defining customer quality requirements in new projects or products.
  • Facilitate problem resolution and process improvement using quality tools like 8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, SPC, among others.
  • Provide continuous training on the quality management system and best practices related to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Promote a quality culture within the organization through awareness initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze quality-related key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare quality performance reports and present recommendations for improvement.
  • Track the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  •  Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 Internal Auditor certification (preferred).
  • External Auditor certification
  • Minimum of 5 / 6 years of experience in a similar role in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems under ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
  • Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
  • Experience in managing non-conformities and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (FMEA, SPC, 8D, 5 Whys, etc.).
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
