Job Description

 

Danfoss is looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join us at Apodaca, Nuevo Leon facility. Responsible to drive development of a zero defect on supplier sites. This Quality Engineer will manage and drive the supplier claim handling process, implement effective long-term corrective actions, conduct PPAP process and engage internal and external stakeholders to implement necessary changes to all related processes and documentation, with the main focus on castings. 

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring supplier quality and performance data are available and accurate at all times for suppliers in their category
  • Resolve supplier corrective action requests to system-level completion
  • Ensuring supplier understands change control expectations as outlined in the supplier quality manual
  • Verify form and content of the PPAP documents meet standards by completing the PPAP checklist and communicate issues back to suppliers for correction
  • Supplier claim handling activities being responsible for follow up and verification of implemented corrective actions, verifying actions are in place and effective, conducting process audits at supplier during visits.
  • Ensuring supplier representatives and management are fully engaged and taking ownership of problems and solutions
  • Ensure that quality audit plans (system, processes and products) are planned and executed in the organization and control that corrective and preventive actions are implemented by the organization.

Background & Skills

 

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy
  • Previous quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with castings process or similar
  • ISO/TS 16949 Requirements & Quality Audit
  • Familiarity with Quality Core Tools (PFMEA, APQP, MSA, CP, SPC, PPAP) and problem-solving process (8D, ...)
  • Has ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 2nd party lead auditor certificate (preferred)
  • Fluent in English communication (verbal and written)
  • Displays Continuous Improvement Focus
  • Data-driven person, with a focus on detail 
  • Strong and confident communicator
  • Coaches & Develops others.
