Job Description
Danfoss is seeking a highly analytical Transportation Specialist to join our team to support our internal and external customers with transportation operations. You will spot trends and troubleshoot obstacles to meet service requirements, provide quantifiable business cases to reduce costs, improve services, and streamline processes. You will compile data in support of KPI’s/SLA’s and provide reports. If you enjoy digging into reports and improving efficiencies, we want to talk to you. This positon is a remote position, but ideally, we'd like to have someone within commutable distance of our Baltimore office.
Job Responsibilities
Duties and required knowledge base:
• Create and manage operational reports
• In-depth knowledge of all modes of transportation
• Liaison for internal customer support
• Cost analysis
• Route inbound and outbound domestic freight
• Ensure routing guides and incoterms are being used appropriately
• Obtain ad hoc quotes and manage hot shot requests
• Communicate and educate sites to correct behaviors that lead to costly errors
• Meet weekly with factory management to discuss issues and the status of containers
• Manage and analyze KPI reporting for presentation to business units
• Research freight bill issues and work with carriers to rectify
• Maintain SOP’s for all department processes
• Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders and service providers
• Proactively research and report on trends and industry changes
• Work in close collaboration with Compliance, Distribution, Global Freight, and Procurement to ensure best practices across all segments
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Transportation Manager
Background & Skills
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of transportation-specific experience, preferably within a transportation department that purchases carrier services
• Must be detail-oriented with proven analytical, math, and problem-solving skills
• International transportation experience strongly preferred
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Superb customer service skills
• Finance background is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft products
• Strong sense of urgency with the ability to navigate issues and find solutions
• Experience working with all modes of transportation
• Out-of-the-box thinker
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize accordingly
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
• TMS/SAP/ERP experience is required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Results driven
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
Salary Range Disclaimer: The base salary range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. The range for this position is $60,000 to $80,000.
