Product Manager

Job Description

The purpose of this job is to manage the product lifecycle of Danfoss substation portfolio with ownership of new product development (NPD) to end of life and accountable for the financial health, i.e., sales growth and profitability according to targets. 

Job Responsibilities

 - Secures alignment between product management and major stakeholders on strategic direction of business. 
 - Manage the short and long-term strategy and product roadmap for substation portfolio in China.
 - Develop clear product positioning and detailed value proposition that secure a strong competitive position (clear differentiation or cost).
 - Active player in Front End activities (Pre-NPD, early NPD) – incl. customer involvement and business case content. 
 - Generate product requirements and specifications to support business cases.
 - Engage with regional and vertical sales managers to align on sales initiatives, secure and execute sales pipeline, and support on customer-related topics such as pricing, product feasibility, etc. 
 - Develop value selling material and technical training content (incl. white papers, webinars, training collateral, product/solution benchmarking, etc.) to drive growth.
 - Collect, consolidate and share strong customer, competitor and application insight to ensure attractive products.
 - Drive relevant functions & processes e.g.. cost down, complexity reduction, compliance, aging stock, technical literature and launch process.

Background & Skills

 - Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field. MBA preferred.
 - More than 5 years' experience in HVAC, Product Management or related field.
 - Demonstrable business management skills in a product management environment and must be technically savvy.
 - Strong teamwork and excellent communication. 
 - Leverage business opportunities and achieve incremental growth by new product launches or product range extensions.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Power BI etc.)
 - Fluent in verbal and written English is preferred.
