As our Associate Engineer, you’ll play a key role in enabling advanced AI‑driven solutions, automation capabilities, and digital innovation across our engineering ecosystem.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams and take ownership of key AI, automation, and digitalization initiatives, helping us move toward a more innovative, efficient, and digitally empowered future.
This role is part of the AI, Automation & Digitalization team within the Fluid Conveyance Division at Danfoss Industries Private Limited, Pune, reporting to the Engineering Manager – AI, Automation & Digitalization.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality) to identify business problems, define use cases, and perform root cause analysis.
- Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML and GenAI (LLM-based) solutions to solve real-world industrial and supply chain challenges.
- Develop end-to-end data and AI pipelines using Azure Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture).
- Build and deploy LLM-powered applications such as copilots, intelligent assistants, and automation agents using techniques like prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and vector search.
- Develop scalable Python-based data processing and AI services, including API integrations for enterprise applications.
- Translate business requirements into production-grade AI solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Work on data ingestion, transformation, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment lifecycle.
- Develop dashboards and visualizations (Power BI or similar) to communicate insights and drive decision-making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adoption and usability of digital solutions.
- Contribute to automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Follow best practices in code quality, version control (Git), and basic MLOps (CI/CD, model monitoring). Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are followed
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or equivalent; OR Mechanical Engineering with proven experience in AI/Data/Automation.
- 1–3 years of hands‑on experience in AI, Data Engineering, Automation, or Digitalization roles.
- Strong academic background (First class / Distinction preferred).
- Demonstrated experience developing AI/ML models, including LLM‑based solutions for real‑world applications.
- Proven ability to work with complex datasets and deliver scalable, production‑ready AI solutions.

Strong Python programming skills for data processing, APIs, and machine learning development.

Hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks, including PySpark, Delta Lake, and pipeline development.Proficiency in SQL and solid understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL, big data processing, pipelines).

Working knowledge of Azure services such as ADLS, Azure ML, Azure Functions, and API integrations.

Familiarity with MLflow, model lifecycle management, or basic MLOps is a plus
