The Impact You'll Make

As our Business Development Manager – Industry (Marine & Industrial Heat Pumps) in Japan, you’ll drive the growth of Danfoss’ Industry business by expanding our market presence and strengthening relationships with key customers and our primary channel partner.

Your impact? You’ll build market pull, increase awareness of Danfoss solutions, and accelerate adoption of our precision cooling technologies — helping customers improve efficiency and reliability while positioning Danfoss as a trusted leader in Japan.

You’ll collaborate with sales, marketing, product teams, and our partner network, taking ownership of business development activities, customer engagement, and opportunity creation to support sustainable and strategic growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Accelerating business expansion by testing new approaches, learning from the market, and driving continuous improvement to grow Marine and Industrial Heat Pump sales in Japan.
  • Evolving our partner ecosystem through stronger collaboration, shared learning, and co‑creation of new business opportunities with our primary channel partner.
  • Cultivating deeper end‑user engagement to uncover insights, spark demand, and influence key specifications and purchasing decisions.
  • Exploring emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive shifts to proactively refine our go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Elevating the Danfoss brand through creative, insight‑driven market initiatives that strengthen awareness and customer confidence.

What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, with a willingness to continuously grow your knowledge; an MBA is a plus.
  • 8–10 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within HVAC, data center, or precision cooling industries, with a track record of learning and adapting in changing environments.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese market dynamics and customer needs, paired with curiosity to explore new opportunities and insights.
  • Solid technical acumen in cooling technologies and an eagerness to deepen technical understanding to communicate value effectively.
  • Proven ability to build meaningful, trust‑based relationships with partners and end users, supported by strong communication skills in both English and Japanese.
