For Danfoss Climate Solutions, within the Hydronics division at our plant in Ljubljana, we are looking for a Category Buyer to join the Procurement team. The role is responsible for executing the operational part of the purchasing strategy for one or more material groups, with a strong focus on ensuring supply continuity, supporting cost optimization initiatives, and improving overall supplier performance in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for implementing category purchasing strategies in close collaboration with Category Management, Supply Chain, and Product Quality Assurance teams. The position plays a key role in ensuring short- and medium-term material availability while supporting the efficient execution of daily purchasing activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Execution and operational support of purchasing strategies for one or more material groups
  • Coordination of supplier requests coming from Development, Logistics, and Quality functions
  • Support in the integration of new product development projects into serial production from a procurement perspective.
  • Execution of activities aimed at improving supplier delivery performance and quality, in collaboration with Operational Purchasing, Strategic Purchasing, and Quality teams
  • Maintenance and update of purchasing data in the ERP system
  • Monitoring supply performance and support in ensuring material availability
  • Cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment between demand, supply, and production requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Educational background in Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in similar roles within procurement in structured and international manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and category management principles, with the ability to act as an operational owner of assigned material groups
  • Excellent command of English and Slovenian, both written and spoken
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at different levels
  • High motivation, accountability, and a proactive mindset in a fast-paced environment
