Danfoss Procurement is looking for an experienced Category Manager to support our growth journey in the Facility Management category. In this role, you will manage strategic and tactical sourcing activities and oversee several tens of millions of USD in spend across the NAM region. Sustainability and operational efficiency are key elements of our strategy, and within Indirect Procurement we focus on sourcing that delivers value and supports Danfoss’ future goals.
Joining Danfoss Procurement means becoming part of an international, multicultural, and highly professional Indirect Procurement team. You will work closely with stakeholders across our manufacturing sites and contribute directly to Danfoss’ competitiveness.
Work location: One of our plants in the United States
What You’ll Be Doing
As our new Category Manager, you will lead sourcing activities, negotiations, and supplier management for Facilities and Real Estate categories. Your key responsibilities will include:
· Developing and maintaining category strategies, including direction, goals, supplier strategy, and execution plans
· Leading or supporting contract negotiations
· Managing supplier relationships, performance, and continuous improvements
· Identifying and executing initiatives that optimize cost, quality, and service delivery
· Engaging with key stakeholders to understand business needs and align priorities
· Managing the supplier base and maintaining strong external market contacts
· Acting as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders and colleagues
· Ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and sustainability targets
· Supporting sourcing activities for hard and soft services, utilities, and lease‑related topics
Expected travel: approx. 10–20% across the region.
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this position, we expect you to have the following:
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
· 5 years of relevant work experience
· Strong negotiation skills with excellent English communication at a professional level
· Experience in project and stakeholder management
· Analytical, structured, and goal‑oriented mindset
· Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships
· Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and learn new areas fast
· Team‑oriented approach combined with accountability and ownership
· This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred experience:
· Procurement experience in Real Estate, Facility Management, and hard & soft services
· Experience in lease negotiations, and energy or utility contracting
· Background working with FM, maintenance, or utility service provider
