Job Description
Job Title:  Design Engineers
Req ID:  48648
Job Location (Short):  Silkeborg, DNK

The Impact You'll Make

You will join a growing engineering team at Redan, where we design and deliver district heating solutions for customers across the Nordic region and international markets. Your work will directly shape products that are built just steps away from where you sit — giving you rare visibility from idea to assembled unit.

In this role, you will help expand our capacity by taking ownership of either project coordination, mechanical design, or design with an electrical perspective. Each path plays a crucial role in ensuring that our solutions are safe, robust, and easy to manufacture.
Whatever your background, you will be part of a friendly, collaborative environment with short decision lines, room to influence, and the chance to see your engineering turned into real world outcomes every week

What You’ll Be Doing

Role 1: Design Engineer — Project Oriented
• Coordinate design tasks with Sales, Production and suppliers to turn customer needs into deliverable solutions that stay on time.
• Create and update 3D models and documentation that ensure smooth production and assembly.
• Prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment where requirements can shift — ensuring clarity for all stakeholders.
• Align expectations with internal teams so each project moves forward with the right scope and quality.
• Support prototype builds and production follow up to ensure designs function in real life.

Role 2: Design Engineer — Mechanical Design
• Design district heating units in 3D CAD to create robust, manufacturable solutions.
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation used daily by production and quality teams.
• Collaborate closely with Production for insights that improve design practicality and buildability.
• Contribute to cost down and continuous improvement efforts that strengthen product performance.
• Support ongoing production needs such as minor adjustments, clarifications, and troubleshooting.

Role 3: Design Engineer — Mechanical + Electrical Focus
• As in Role 2.
Additionally:
• Develop or update basic electrical documentation to support safe and reliable assemblies.
• Act as internal support for questions related to electrical setup and controls.
• Work with Production teams to verify wiring practicality and resolve installation challenges.

What We're Looking For

(Applies to all three roles unless stated otherwise)
• Experience using 3D CAD (SolidWorks or similar) and the ability to produce clear, structured documentation.
• A practical technical background — such as mechanical engineering, production technology, or marine engineering — that enables hands on problem solving.
• Ability to communicate effectively in Danish and English, including with Production on the shop floor.
• A structured, solution oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks in a changing environment.
• For the electrical focused role: Basic understanding of wiring diagrams, electrical components or controller settings (from education
or practical work)

What You'll Get from Us

You’ll join a tight-knit, welcoming engineering team known for humour, openness, and strong collaboration across functions. With both the
stability of Danfoss and the agility of the Redan brand, you get the best of two worlds.

We offer:
• A workplace where you can see your designs turn into real physical products within days.
• A broad role where you work across the full engineering process — from concept to production.
• Opportunities to grow into project coordination, electrical competencies, or deeper mechanical expertise.
• Flexibility in your workweek, balanced with meaningful time spent onsite close to colleagues and production.
• A leadership team that listens, supports, and values your input.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you’re excited about designing real products, collaborating closely with colleagues, and shaping district heating solutions used across the
world, we’d love to hear from you. You’re encouraged to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement — your motivation and mindset matter.
