The Impact You'll Make
We are looking for a Director of Global Category Management to lead and develop our global category management strategy across five high-impact categories, including turn parts, hot-stamped and machined brass parts, materials, raw materials, press parts, and electrical parts. Together, these categories represent a total spend of €170M.In this role, you will drive synergies, supplier consolidation, and scale leverage to create value while ensuring global sourcing excellence and supporting business growth.
Will lead four Regional Category Managers to align global strategies, cut costs, boost supplier performance, and ensure supply resilience.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, coach, and develop 4 Regional Category Managers.
- Foster cross-regional collaboration and best-practice sharing.
- Develop and implement global category strategies across all five categories.
- Drive supplier consolidation to leverage scale and reduce complexity.
- Identify and execute synergy opportunities across regions and plants.
- Build and maintain relationships with global suppliers serving multiple regions.
- Negotiate contracts to secure optimal commercial and service terms.
- Ensure supplier performance meets quality, delivery, and cost targets.
- Support business growth through sourcing strategies aligned with technology changes and portfolio priorities.
- Ensure categories with strategic value propositions are positioned to support sales and profit growth
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years in procurement/category management, with at least 5 years in a global leadership role.
- Proven track record managing large spend portfolios (€100M+).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership capabilities.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial components preferred.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
