We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our team and champion workplace safety and environmental stewardship. In this role, you will be a key driver in developing, implementing, and sustaining our EHS Management Systems, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards.
You will work closely with operations teams during second shift to identify risks, deliver training, conduct audits, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that make our workplace safer, cleaner, and more sustainable.

What You’ll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Lead and implement EHS programs in partnership with department managers and production employees.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct daily GEMBA walks to verify adherence to safety standards and identify improvement opportunities.
- Monitor and enforce company safety standards, reporting compliance metrics to leadership.
Training & Engagement
- Deliver engaging EHS training for general and task‑specific procedures.
- Promote a safety‑first culture through active communication, coaching, and recognition programs.
Risk Assessment & Incident Management
- Investigate injuries, near misses, and hazards to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct hazard assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and recommend countermeasures.
- Document findings and create site‑specific safety action plans aligned with global EHS policies.
Environmental Stewardship
- Manage environmental compliance programs, permits, and inspections (stormwater, wastewater, air quality, hazardous waste, residual waste).
- Support sustainability initiatives and waste reduction programs.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
- Track and report Process Performance Indicators (PPI) in GIMs.
- Support 5S workplace organization initiatives.
- Participate in internal audits and document control processes.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ANSI, NFPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience with document control systems and audit coordination.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS software platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
- Risk management framework and tool experience.
- Familiarity with Management Review processes and KPI tracking.
- Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement training.
- ASP or GSP certification.
