The Impact You'll Make
The Field Application Engineer provides applications support for Semikron Danfoss product with a focus on intelligent power modules, gate drivers and stacks. This role will interact directly with customers, sales, product management, application engineering, R&D and quality teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Review customer technical requirements, perform electrical and thermal calculations and recommend suitable products;
- Conduct product and customer application related troubleshooting on customer site and at own test rigs in cooperation with the global Semikron Danfoss application engineering and quality team.;
- Answer technical questions related to Semikron Danfoss products from both customers and the sales team;
- Perform tests and measurements on power electronics systems;
- Collect information about market trends including competitor products, customer and application requirements and feed those back to the organizationl
- Support in writing technical requirements for customer specific products, prepare test & measurement reports and application notes;
- Prepare and perform technical presentations on customer site;
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Understanding of power semiconductor operation, DC/DC and DC/AC power converters
- Proficiency with simulation/calculation software (SPICE, PSIM, etc)
- Proficiency with basic electrical test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, power supply, Digital Multimeter)
- Ability to work safely around high voltage (50-1500VDC) circuits
- English can be used as working language
