The Impact You'll Make

Do you want to help shape the next generation of frequency converters—not just how they’re designed, but how they’re built?

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in New Product Development (NPD), you’ll play a hands-on role in developing future-ready manufacturing solutions, pushing the boundaries of automation, smart assembly, and industrial digitalization. Your work will directly influence how new products move from idea to scalable, automated production in our Smart Factory.

This is your opportunity to turn curiosity into real impact—testing ideas, challenging existing setups, and helping us take manufacturing to the next level.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of our Manufacturing Engineering team in the DK S/C Technology Center, working closely with R&D, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Your focus will be on making manufacturing smarter, more automated, and ready for the future.

Your tasks may include:

  • Designing products for automated assembly (DFAA) in close collaboration with R&D
  • Contributing to the development of next-generation manufacturing cells
  • Exploring smarter use of robots, automation, and digital tools
  • Supporting investment planning, layouts, and supplier alignment
  • Testing, validating, and proving concepts in our Automation Center

Here are projects you could work on

Depending on your interests and background, your project could involve:

  • Transforming value stream maps into active digital templates to optimize flow and balance
  • Evaluating Fleet Control Manager flexibility and usability
  • Developing low-investment automated assembly modules using collaborative robot technology (UR)
  • Exploring AI-based vision solutions and building proof-of-concept cases

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is curious, motivated, and excited about manufacturing technology.

You:

  • Are a Bachelor, Candidate, or Master’s student in engineering (or a related field)
  • Have an interest in manufacturing, automation, and technology development
  • Enjoy problem-solving and turning ideas into practical solutions
  • Bring an open mindset and a willingness to learn and challenge the status quo

What You'll Get from Us

  1. We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  2. You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
  3. We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.
  4. You’ll receive benefits like, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great.
