The Impact You'll Make
As a Database Administrator at Danfoss you will oversee operations of our 12.000+ databases and 600+ database servers together with our team of highly skilled experts and service partners. We are working mainly with Microsoft SQL Servers and about a dozen Oracle DB Clusters.
Your expertise will be central to ensuring our critical business applications are always running smoothly and efficiently. By maintaining the health and performance of our database environment, you will directly contribute to business continuity and user satisfaction across the organization.
You will be working closely together with internal customers and external providers to ensure effective implementation and optimized operations of systems and applications across Danfoss.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments
· Serve as the primary point of contact for our business partners ensuring smooth and quick resolution to incidents and requests for MSSQL and Oracle DB services
· Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required
· Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
· Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, indexing and data corruption
· Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all database systems and processes
· Collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders to support application development and data integration projects
What We're Looking For
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
· Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server
· Experience with HA solutions for databases, Failover clustering, Always-on, Replication
· Demonstrable experience in vendor management, specifically with IT service partners
· Basic knowledge of Oracle database administration
· Solid understanding of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
· Knowledge in relevant Infrastructure components like servers, virtualization, network, clients and firewall technology
· Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional) are a plus
