As our Lab Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and availability of automation and electrical systems that power our R&D Compressor Test Lab and production final run stations.

You’ll collaborate closely with Lab Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, and Testing teams, taking ownership of automation infrastructure and maintenance systems that help us operate a more reliable, efficient, and continuously improving laboratory environment.
This is an in-office role based at our Turbocor Global Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including asset digitization, automated work orders, and maintenance data analysis
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial automation systems, including PLCs, databases, and industrial communication networks
- Diagnose and repair electrical and control system issues involving control cabinets, VFDs, PID controllers, pumps, heaters, valves, and instrumentation loops
- Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and ensure seamless integration with PLC and PC-based data acquisition systems
- Serve as the automation subject matter expert, mentoring lab engineers and technicians to strengthen electrical and automation troubleshooting capabilities
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of industrial automation maintenance experience
- Proven proficiency programming and troubleshooting Siemens S7-1200/1500 (TIA Portal) and Rockwell Micro800 (Connected Components Workbench) PLCs
- Experience implementing or working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), with basic knowledge of MySQL or similar databases
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control loop diagrams, with hands-on experience in VFDs, PID control, and sensor calibration
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus (TCP/RTU), CAN bus, and Profibus, along with a continuous improvement mindset
Nice to Have
- Experience with Structured Text, Python, or C++ for advanced automation or data processing
- Proficiency with EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
- Exposure to Linux-based embedded controllers or edge gateways
