Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for a Lead Test Engineer to strengthen the team and lead the testing approach for advanced electronic platforms and software.

The person we are looking for will join a multidisciplinary team that develops electronic control and connectivity solutions for industrial applications, with a strong focus on quality, automation, and systems integration. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in embedded/IoT systems testing, test automation, validation, and managing cross-functional activities.

The team works daily at our Innovation Campus in Mestre (VE), where hands-on work and direct collaboration are an integral part of how we build high-level technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Defining and managing comprehensive test strategies (component, integration, system, performance, acceptance) for embedded devices and connected software systems.
  • Designing, developing and maintaining test automation frameworks to ensure coverage, repeatability, and traceability of tests.
  • Coordinating validation activities across multiple layers (FW, SW, networking and cloud) and ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining automated test suites in Python and/or other languages and tools (e.g.,  Robot, Cypress, Bruno, Postman).
  • Collaborating with development and architecture teams for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and firmware/software optimization.
  • Managing integration and validation of complex systems involving industrial and IoT communication protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, BACNet, MQTT, etc.).
  • Defining and implementing quality metrics, reporting, and test processes (DevOps, test case management, defect tracking).
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring: guiding colleagues and new resources, sharing best practices, and defining test standards and guidelines.

What We're Looking For

  • Educational background in Engineering (Electronics, Automation, Telecommunications) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in testing and validation of embedded and IoT systems, preferably in industrial or automotive environments.
  • Strong experience in test automation using Python and scripting (Bash), including CI integration and test framework development.
  • Knowledge of industrial and IoT communication protocols (TCP/IP, Modbus, MQTT, BACNet is a plus).
  • Experience in cloud and API validation, with the ability to perform functional, integration, and load/stress testing.
  • Experience with UI/mobile test tools (Cypress, Selenium/Winium) and end-to-end testing of multi-component platforms.
  • Experience in defining test specifications, managing test cases, and reporting, with a quality-driven and repeatable approach.
  • Excellent command of Italian and English (written and spoken).
