Operates and maintain setups of conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining\ centers to fabricate and assemble metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Demonstrates a commitment to maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area. Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety.
- Must be able to operate multiple machines.
- Follows all standard work, control plans, all processes, and quality guidelines
- Perform all Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities as required.
- Verify that machine is running at proper cycle time.
- Secures holding fixtures, cutting tools and materials on conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines.
- Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using a variety of gauges making sure parts are within specified tolerances.
- Setting up, operating and dismantling of unit assembly and subassembly work stations.
Responds with commitment and sensitivity toward satisfying the needs of internal and external customers. - Promotes quality and continuous improvement philosophy.
- Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions that are intended to have a positive effect on work performance.
- Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and has the ability to anticipate problem areas in advance. Applies creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resources.

- May Fit and assembles parts into complete assembly.
- Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
- Confers with other classifications in care and use of machines, equipment, and techniques required.
What We're Looking For
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required
Machining Certification from a Technical School, or enrolled in the course with approval for OJT
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure
manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals or risk of electrical shock.
