The Impact You'll Make

 

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is a core member of the maintenance team, responsible for the technical planning and scheduling of work orders to ensure high asset reliability and labor efficiency. This role utilizes IBM Maximo CMMS to prepare work packages and coordinates with the onsite MSC team to verify material availability. Additionally, this position supports the department’s compliance and calibration efforts by assisting with documentation, record-keeping, and scheduling periodic checks.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

 

  • Work Order Planning & Scheduling: Review and prioritize maintenance requests in IBM Maximo. Develop detailed job plans including labor requirements, safety permits, and technical instructions. Coordinate with Production to schedule equipment downtime windows.
  • Calibration Support: Assist the maintenance team by scheduling routine calibration checks for site assets. Maintain calibration records within Maximo, ensuring certificates and technical documentation are filed correctly and are easily accessible for audits.
  • EHS & Compliance Documentation: Support the facilities team in maintaining audit-ready EHS documentation for regulated assets (e.g., fire suppression, pressure vessels, and safety equipment). Assist in tracking and filing inspection reports and compliance paperwork.
  • Material Tracking: Coordinate with the MSC Integrated Supply team to check part availability for planned maintenance. Monitor "Waiting on Material" (WMATL) status and update schedules based on part delivery timelines.
  • Data Maintenance: Assist in keeping asset records, equipment Bill of Materials (BOMs), and technical libraries up to date within the Maximo environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Maintenance Technicians and Supervisors to ensure that planned job packages are accurate and that all necessary documentation for completed work is captured in the system.
  • Reporting:  Assist in generating standard KPI reports for the maintenance team, such as Schedule Adherence, PM Compliance, and Calibration status updates.

What We're Looking For

 

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in Maintenance Planning/Scheduling or a similar technical support role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Software Expertise: Proficiency in IBM Maximo (CMMS) is required. Experience with Work Order and Asset modules is highly valued.
  • Administrative Accuracy: Exceptional attention to detail, specifically regarding technical documentation and regulatory record-keeping.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read and understand technical manuals, safety data sheets, and basic engineering drawings to assist in job planning.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the maintenance team, production staff, and third-party vendors like MSC.
  • Computer Skills: Competency in MS Office (specifically Excel) for data organization and reporting.
