As our Manager – Product Application & Design Engineering for Aeroquip BU, you’ll play a key role in leading and guiding a team of Product Application Engineers supporting OEMs and distribution accounts for global factory locations, as well as Design Engineers supporting global factory locations.
Your impact
You will be responsible for the successful execution of core Product Application & Design Engineering activities, strategies, and initiatives to improve quote effectiveness, optimize PLM processes, drive stakeholder satisfaction, and ensure continuous improvement. With a “run the business as your own” attitude, you will serve as a crucial link between sales, the business, and the customer, helping to drive growth with OEMs and distributors.
You’ll collaborate with sales, manufacturing plants, and global teams, and take ownership of initiatives such as leveraging the PAE team to assist with VAVE, building relationships, leading training sessions, communicating customer feedback, managing projects, handling customer questions, connecting with manufacturing plants, implementing process changes to improve quoting practices or turnaround time, and enabling the team to utilize their engineering skills and mindset — helping us move toward a more innovative and customer-focused future.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead the Product Application & Design Engineering Team in Aeroquip BU to deliver quality products and services on time in line with business objectives.
- Support internal customers by conceiving, developing, executing, and communicating plans, while continually prioritizing work to support key customers.
- Collaborate with groups within the Fluid Conveyance division to synergize engineering capabilities, interface with internal stakeholders, and operate effectively across boundaries while balancing organizational integration with local demands.
- Use your skills in continuous improvement, process optimization, and engineering leadership to implement QOS containments, deploy productivity improvement strategies, allocate resources, and ensure projects are completed within required timeframes.
- Continuously learn and share knowledge by initiating and implementing process improvements to support the Danfoss Business System (DMAIC, VA/VE, Voice Survey, Performance Evaluation), while promoting a professional work environment and developing key engineering talent for the organization.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in Application Engineering, Product Life Cycle Management processes, and CAD tools, with 10 to 12 years of professional experience and demonstrated ability to lead technical engineering teams.
- Proficiency in tools and methodologies such as Green Belt, LEAN/DMAIC, Project Management, MS Project, and CAD tools, with a strong pursuit of training and education.
- Ability to work effectively as an engineering supervisor in a multinational company or engineering organization, with strong customer interface experience.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage and develop people, identify, attract, and grow key engineering talent for the organization.
- A mindset of continuous improvement and collaboration, demonstrated through initiating and implementing process improvements to support the Danfoss Business System.
