The Impact You'll Make

As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Danfoss in Nordborg, you will strengthen our local Mechanical Engineering team by bringing ownership, initiative, and a proactive mindset to our Spool Valve Solutions business.

You will help secure today’s business success while shaping the future of our product portfolio. By thinking ahead, taking responsibility, and turning ideas into production‑ready designs, you will directly influence how our products perform in demanding applications.

Your passion for continuous learning and long‑term development will support our customers in improving machine performance, increasing energy efficiency, and reducing carbon emissions—while reinforcing Danfoss’ reputation for robust, high‑quality mechanical solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own mechanical designs end‑to‑end, from early concept to production release, ensuring high quality and manufacturability.
  • Develop and improve spool valve components and part families, driving performance, reliability, compliance, and cost improvements.
  • Create and maintain 3D and 2D designs, calculations, and simulations, delivering production‑ready solutions together with manufacturing and suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely across functions and locations, contributing actively to an agile team and successful product releases.
  • Drive engineering changes and continuous improvement, reducing time to market through pragmatic and well‑thought‑out solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • A completed university degree (Bachelor or Master) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, combined with practical engineering experience gained through projects, internships, student jobs, or professional roles.
  • A proactive, self‑driven mindset, with the willingness to take ownership, think independently, and actively contribute ideas to improve products and ways of working.
  • Strong motivation to learn and grow, with a genuine interest in building deep technical expertise over time in mechanical design and hydraulics.
  • Solid knowledge of metal materials, casting and machining technologies, and fluid hydraulics, supported by hands‑on exposure.
  • Professional English skills; Danish is desirable, or you bring a strong drive to develop your language skills as part of your long‑term growth.

We welcome both experienced engineers and motivated graduates who are looking for a long‑term role where they can build knowledge, take responsibility, and grow together with the team.

What You'll Get from Us

  • You will join a supportive, experienced, and collaborative engineering team that values knowledge sharing, openness, and pragmatic problem‑solving. We work closely together to support the business and deliver meaningful solutions.
  • At Danfoss, you will have strong opportunities for technical and personal development, supported by mentoring, training, and access to global learning opportunities. We believe in promoting from within and investing in long‑term careers.
  • You will work in an agile, international environment with strong local collaboration and global interfaces, contributing to products that enable a more sustainable future.
  • We offer flexibility, autonomy, and trust, enabling a healthy work‑life balance. Your well‑being matters to us.
  • You will also receive a competitive benefits package, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, and personal insurance. Benefits vary by country and contract and will be discussed during the hiring process.
