Project 1: Screw Torque Calculation
You will develop a testing system capable of determining the optimal torque for various screw joints based on screw type and material combinations. Your work will include:
•     Analyzing how different torque values influence vibration, shock, and impact resistance
•     Assessing thermal effects on torque performance
•     Evaluating heat generation at joints caused by electrical current
•     Delivering a user‑friendly torque‑calculation tool for engineering use

Project 2: Tolerance Stack‑Up Analysis for Complex Assemblies
You will perform tolerance stack‑up analyses on multi‑component assemblies to define appropriate dimensional tolerances across all relevant parts.

What You’ll Be Doing

•     Gather data on screw types used across the organization
•     Perform structural calculations for screw joints
•     Coordinate procurement of components needed for testing
•     Assemble and test prototype structures
•     Conduct vibration and thermal testing at various torque levels
•     Document results, findings, and recommendations
•     Create tolerance chains for assemblies
•     Update technical drawings based on tolerance analysis outcomes

What We're Looking For

•     Enrollment in a B.Sc. or M.Sc. program in Mechanical Engineering
