We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Manager to join our Drives China Division team. This vital role focuses on efficiently delivering cost-effective and highly reliable Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) products specifically engineered for the Chinese market. By ensuring excellence in mechanical design and production, you will play a key role in supporting the company's competitiveness and profitable growth within China.
About the Role
As Mechanical Manager, you will lead and oversee the mechanical engineering team responsible for the development, design, and continuous improvement of VFD products. Your expertise will guide the optimization of product mechanics to meet stringent quality, cost, and performance standards.
The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain, ensuring alignment from concept through to production and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical engineering department to develop innovative and reliable VFD products tailored for customer needs in China.
- Drive initiatives focused on enhancing production efficiency, reducing costs, and improving product quality.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Develop and implement robust testing and validation processes for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Collaborate proactively with product management and manufacturing teams to meet delivery schedules and market demands.
- Manage and mentor engineering personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and teamwork.
- Utilize data-driven decision making to identify risks and opportunities, proposing solutions that enhance product competitiveness.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging mechanical technologies and market trends to inform future product development.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, preferably within the power electronics or drives industry. Proven experience managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects is essential. You will have a passion for technical excellence, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to navigate dynamic challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced qualifications are a plus.
- Extensive experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in VFD or similar product segments.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical and cost-effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in cross-cultural collaboration.
- Familiarity with CAD software and engineering tools common in product development.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin is highly advantageous.
