The Impact You'll Make
The Mechanical NPD Team Intern will support the New Product Development (NPD) organization by assisting with engineering activities, documentation, testing, and cross‑functional coordination. This position provides hands‑on exposure to engineering concepts, mechanical design, and new product development processes while contributing to administrative and project‑related tasks.
The intern will work closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, operations teams, and other internal partners to help ensure smooth execution of development activities and successful product launches.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support mechanical engineers in developing mechanical design concepts and performing engineering calculations.
- Assist with creating, modifying, and managing CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Support prototype builds, test setup, test execution, and documentation of results.
- Prepare engineering reports, meeting notes, presentations, and other project communications.
- Assist with benchmarking tests, prototype assembly, equipment setup, and lab tasks during product development.
- Help coordinate tasks between engineering, operations, supply chain, procurement, and other functional teams.
- Perform administrative tasks such as documentation control, data entry, organizing files, and scheduling team activities.
Travel requirements: Low, with occasional visits to suppliers, customers, or technical conferences if needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
- Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or similar tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and basic technical documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience or hands‑on project work in mechanical engineering or product development.
- Experience with prototyping, testing equipment, or laboratory instrumentation.
- Exposure to manufacturing, machining, welding, or fabrication environments.
- Knowledge of measurement tools, inspection equipment, or engineering test methods.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
