The Impact You'll Make

 

The 3rd Shift Operations Supervisor will manage the production operations budget for the cost of labor. Track and manage production levels and deliveries to plan. Proactively manage scrap and rework. Manage environment and training to eliminate hazards and accidents. Maintain morale to ensure positive employee relations. Supervise and direct employees. Making sure that the organization decisions making is based on a process-oriented culture – to ensure the linkage from strategy to actions.

This position is for a 4-day work week.  Tuesday -Friday (8:15pm - 6:15am).

 

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage the daily activities of all employees. Maintain adequate metrics to ensure levels of performance are known and improved upon.
  • Ensure that adequate equipment is available and implemented safely to adequately and efficiently conduct business.
  • Implement and enforce all policies, practices, and benefits and employ effective leadership techniques and employee relations activities to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all people working at the facility.
  • Identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, quality, service and continuous improvement in operating profits.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and key intra-company people to effectively manage the operation for best results.
  • Ensure through training and daily audits that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the department.
  • Regularly communicate and demonstrate Danfoss best practices, ethics, values and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization.
  • Counsel and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports.
  • Develops, motivates and coaches team members; acts as an employee advocate and interviews potential new hires.
  • Promotes customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures all functional areas have accurate, timely information.
  • Actively participates in cross-functional company-wide teams to assist in driving quality improvements, process improvements, business system enhancements and process standardization.
  • Reviews order exception reports to identify root cause and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Assists in the creation of training plans and programs and promotes cross-training opportunities.

What We're Looking For

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.
  • Experience with lean, six sigma, and/or continuous improvement.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment.
  • Consistent visibility on the production floor to support employees, monitor operations, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds
