The Impact You'll Make
The Team Leader is responsible for achieving business objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. This role supports Shift Leaders, Supervisors, and Managers in tactical decision-making, process improvement, and training initiatives. The Team Leader must demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication, and a commitment to continuous improvement. A significant portion of the workday will be spent auditing, coaching, training, and facilitating problem-solving. All relevant information is communicated promptly to the Production Supervisor or Shift Leader.
This is an onsite, 2nd Shift position at our facility in Tallahassee, Fl, working 3pm to 1am.
What You’ll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate root-cause problem solving (RCPS) with employees to address obstacles impacting Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost goals, using DBS/DPP tools.
- Develop team members through training, counseling, and performance monitoring; provide feedback and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Make and execute decisions on work assignments to support KPIs and cross-training; foster skill development across the team.
- Coach and mentor team members to achieve high performance, empowerment, and teamwork.
- Lead 5S activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take ownership of operational targets, ensuring focus on KPIs across the team and support groups.
- Monitor compliance with process and quality standards.
- Promote change and innovation, building a culture of continuous improvement.
- Track productivity and quality, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Model ethical behavior and Danfoss’s Behaviors in Action, supporting core organizational values.
- Serve as an extension of the Supervisor or Shift Leader, directing and assigning employees; act as point-of-contact in their absence.
- Troubleshoot quality issues, equipment problems, and operational challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience; preferably in the functional area being led.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Proven ability to lead teams in a manufacturing environment.
